The city of Fastiv, Kyiv region, received 600 new garbage cans, 4 garbage trucks and one bulldozer with EU grant funds.

This was reported on the NEFCO website.

Thanks to these new revenues, the community managed to solve the problem with the shortage and worn-out state of municipal equipment, which was engaged for the collection and transportation of household waste. Also, utility workers began to have time to remove waste in time, which previously accumulated and formed spontaneous garbage dumps.

"Literally in the first weeks after putting the equipment into operation, a positive result became visible," recalls Yulia Commandant, v. at. Director of KP FMR "Fastivska Keryucha Company".

She said that now the areas around the containers are clean, because the containers are always covered with lids. Also, thanks to the new technology, there are no disruptions in garbage collection schedules. According to her, the private sector has undergone the biggest changes, because regular garbage removal services have become available to residents of private households.

Today, more than 300 European-style garbage containers have been installed in the neighborhoods of Fastov, says Yulia Komendant.

Lilia Kholodnytska, a resident of Fastiv, head of the self-organization committee of the population of the Zareche microdistrict, adds that recently garbage was taken out in garbage bags once a month, which was inconvenient, and now garbage is collected 8 times a month plus new tanks, in her opinion, it is convenient to use.
