Ukrainians were advised to install energy-efficient "wallpaper"

Specialists of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection have prepared TOP tips for Ukrainians on how to make a smartphone energy-efficient, which will help you stay connected longer, especially in critical situations.

After all, energy efficiency concerns not only energy consumption at home, in the enterprise, in the office, but even in one's own smartphone, reports the State Energy Efficiency Agency on Facebook.

The message emphasized that in critical situations, the value of energy-saving mode is vital. Ukrainians were advised to keep their power banks charged.

How to make a smartphone energy efficient:

  • enable power saving mode. A shortcut with this function is located in the quick settings panel, as well as in the settings (Battery, Power, etc.);
  • turn on the screen as little as possible and set energy-efficient screen settings. To do this, you need to enable the standard smoothness of the display instead of high, if the smartphone has a corresponding setting. Set energy-efficient wallpaper: black background for OLED/AMOLED display, light background for IPS. It is also worth turning off the auto-rotation of the screen;
  • find and disable apps that consume the most power through background activity. You can find out the level of power consumption of applications by going to Settings → Battery → Battery usage;
  • turn off auto-download, auto-update and synchronization of applications, especially if you have several accounts connected (in power saving mode, this function should work automatically). Android → settings → accounts and sync. iOS → settings → App Store → Update applications;
  • limit the number of applications in "wake-up" mode, leave only those that your life depends on: messenger, calls, "Air alarm" application: Android → left touch key → swipe unnecessary apps, iOS → swipe up from the bottom of the screen until the App Switcher won't appear, or by double-clicking the Start button → swipe up on the app preview screen to close it;
  • turn off recognition of voice commands: Android → Google Now → settings → Voice search → Recognition "Okay, Google", iOS → settings → Siri and search or Siri and dictation;
  • turn off vibration and unnecessary communications (GPS, Bluetooth);
  • refuse to watch videos and play games on a smartphone.

What to do if the power situation is critical:

  • turn on the "emergency energy saving" mode;
  • put the smartphone in flight mode, if there is an alternative connection;
  • agree with loved ones on the time of contact and the time and place of the meeting if it is not possible to restore contact;
  • write down all important phone numbers.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that specialists of the analytical center DiXi Group have prepared advice for Ukrainians in case of force majeure shutdowns electricity, water, gas and heat supply.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, Ukrainians were urged to frugal energy consumption and its conservation, because, in addition to reducing the load on networks, it will lead to economic benefits and improve the state of the environment.
