The EcoCommittee provided conclusions on the draft law "On scrap"

People's deputies will re-examine draft law No. 9627 "On attracting investments for the rapid reconstruction of Ukraine"

At its meeting on October 9, the Parliamentary Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management recommended to the main Committee to finalize draft law No. 9484 "On Amendments to Article 2 of the Law of Ukraine "On Scrap".

The Verkhovna Rada was recommended to adopt as a basis draft law No. 9665 "On improving responsibility for offenses in the field of forest use and countering illegal timber circulation" taking into account the comments, it is stated on the website of the ecocommittee.

Remarks of people's deputies concern:

  • responsibility for digging up or uprooting trees;
  • distinguishing the offense of felling trees or shrubs into arbitrary and illegal;
  • providing additional powers to the National Police bodies to draw up protocols and review cases of administrative offenses.

The eco-committee also decided:

  • recommend The Committee on the Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning will independently decide, taking into account the comments, draft law No. 9664 "On construction on land occupied by public waterways" and draft law No. 9664-1 "On construction on land occupied public inland waterways";
  • to reconsider at the next meeting draft law No. 9627 "On attracting investments for the rapid reconstruction of Ukraine";
  • recommend to the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy to submit draft law No. 9545 "On ensuring the traceability of aquatic biological resources and/or products produced from aquatic biological resources" to the Parliament, to adopt it as a basis;
  • to recommend to the Committee on Law Enforcement Activities to introduce draft law No. 9546 "On establishing responsibility in the field of traceability of aquatic biological resources and/or products from them" to the Verkhovna Rada, to adopt it as a basis.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Cabinet of Ministers approved draft law No. 9484 "On Amendments to Article 2 of the Law of Ukraine "On Scrap Metal". The document establishes that the legislation on scrap metal consists of the Laws "On Waste Management", "On scrap metal" and other legal acts.
