Due to the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP, the Nikopol and part of Kryvorizky districts of Dnipropetrovsk region were left without water supply.
Residents are delivered technical and drinking water to 53 distribution points, reports the press service of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration.
The head of the Dnipropetrovsk OVA, Serhiy Lysak, said that in the Kryvorizka district, water is delivered according to the schedule to Hrushivsk and part of the Zelenodol community, as well as to the Nikopol region. 10 water tanks of 70 tons each have already been delivered. 18 fire trucks and about 50 water tankers were also used, some of which were provided free of charge by farmers. Water quality is monitored by experts.
"Bottled water for residents is delivered by businesses and international organizations. We communicate with them through the Civilian Population Support Coordination Center. We send humanitarian goods to where they are needed first," Lysak emphasized.
He noted that the current work is aimed at providing stable water supply to communities as soon as possible. Work on the modernization of water canals has already started, and preparations for a larger project – the construction of a main water pipeline – are underway.
It is noted that networks of wells are being expanded in the districts, in particular, for hospitals, and existing ones are being repaired. They are also working out the possibility of placing mechanical columns in the territories. 60 locations have already been identified in the Pokrovsk community of the Nikopol district, in Gleiuvatska and Apostolivska – Kryvorizky.
