On Tuesday, August 13, the government adopted the National Renewable Energy Action Plan for the period until 2030 and a document that implements the practice of pilot auctions for the distribution of support quotas for producers of renewable energy sources (RES).

The corresponding notice was posted on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

"We are testing the system of "green" auctions in order to launch it in full force in 2025," said Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

He noted that such a step is part of our Energy Strategy and the path to EU membership.

The head of the government emphasized that in this way potential investors will have guaranteed support, and this will accelerate the implementation of projects in the field of renewable energy. In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the plan of measures for its implementation in addition to the National Renewable Energy Action Plan for the period up to 2030. It lists 38 measures, performance indicators and identifies those responsible for their implementation.

According to the Prime Minister, this document clearly correlates with European norms and standards. It aims to increase the share of "green" energy in gross final consumption to 27% by 2030.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that from July 27 laws came into force No. 3854-ХХ and No. 3853-ХХ, which exempt energy equipment from customs duties and VAT when imported into Ukraine. Also, EcoPolitic reported that the Cabinet allocated UAH 759 million for preferential loans for RES for businesses and citizens.
