People are advised to avoid being outdoors

As of the morning of February 10, 2026, harmful levels of air pollution have been observed in the capital. This refers to the content of fine dust particles, which have a negative impact on human health.

Data from the SaveEcoBot service indicates that safe concentration levels have been exceeded.

The red pollution level is in the Lisovy Massif, Akademika Korolyova Avenue, near Holosiivskyi Park, on Chervonoyi Kaliny Avenue, and on Arkhitektora Verbytskoho, Vakhtanga Kikabidze, and Yevhenia Kharchenko streets. Another 20 air quality monitoring stations showed an "orange" level of danger. The service defines this as harmful to sensitive groups. The average indicator for Kyiv as of 9:00 a.m. is also "orange."

At this time, the resource of the Kyiv City Council shows only limited air quality data. It records exceedances on the right bank as well – also near Holosiivskyi Park, at 22 Kytaivska Street.

Recommendations for Kyiv residents

Fine dust can cause adverse reactions in people with respiratory diseases, particularly those with asthma. It is also hazardous for individuals with heart conditions, as well as for children and the elderly.

Residents are advised to limit their time outdoors and avoid opening windows. Where possible, it is beneficial to use an air purifier and carry out wet cleaning. In addition, specialists recommend drinking more water.

EcoPolityka previously reported that after a massive shelling and the resulting fires, Kyiv residents were advised to avoid staying outside.

At that time, the Department of Environmental Protection and Climate Change Adaptation of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) added that due to power outages at monitoring sites, air quality data may be delivered with interruptions. As can be seen, on the Kyiv City Council resource, 4 out of 7 points lack power supply and do not transmit information.
