In Kharkiv, on Bakhmutska Street, the Environmental Inspectorate discovered an illegal dump of construction waste, which caused damage to the environment amounting to UAH 5 million.

Environmental inspectors, together with representatives of the Kharkiv City Council, conducted an inspection and confirmed that construction waste was stored in open ground. This led to the contamination of land plots.
Local residents had repeatedly reported the problem of pollution from construction waste. After calculations, the Environmental Inspection specialists determined that the damage caused to the environment as a result of soil contamination with construction waste amounted to UAH 5 million.
The Kyiv District Prosecutor's Office in Kharkiv announced that charges had been brought under Part 2 of Article 239 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (pollution or damage to land resulting in serious consequences).
