Despite constant warnings from rescuers, Ukrainians still continue to set fire to dry vegetation and garbage. This not only destroys the environment, but also causes large-scale fires that often get out of control.

“And how much harm such fires cause to all living things: poisoning the air we breathe, destroying defenseless animals and birds that also want to live! The fire spreads quickly and is hard to stop even for professional firefighters. Sometimes the flames spread to residential areas and destroy homes,” the SES stated.

Every year in Ukraine, fire covers hectares of forests, fields, and even residential buildings. Rescuers emphasize that the responsibility for harming the environment lies with each of us.

  2. Do not leave campfires unattended.
  3. If you discover a fire, call 101 immediately.

As EcoPolitica previously reported, firefighters revealed shocking figures regarding the area and number of fires in Ukraine within a single day.
