On 5 September, the Verkhovna Rada voted to appoint Svitlana Hrynchuk as Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.

A few hours earlier, the Committee on Environmental Policy and Environmental Management held a meeting via videoconference and recommended that the Verkhovna Rada "appoint Hrynchuk Svetlana Vasylivna to the post of Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine."
This was informed by Taras Melnychuk, representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada.
Svitlana Grinchuk is returning to the Ministry of the Environment after a year of working as deputy minister of energy Herman Galushchenko. In 2016, she headed the Department for Climate Change and Ozone Layer Protection, and in 2022-2023 she held the position of Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine for European Integration.
