The company sees a significant prospect in it

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih PJSC will provide border guards with 70 thousand tons of blast furnace slag for the construction of roads along the borders with the European Union.

It is reported by the State Border Service of Ukraine.

The ministry noted that the Government of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs supported the initiative of the State Border Service to equip border roads with improved coverage along the border with EU countries with its own forces.

To do this, use blast furnace slag "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" – it is an environmentally friendly material. With the delivery of slag crushed stone to the border, Ukrzaliznytsia will help.

This project will be an example of the introduction of a circular economy (or circular economy), when instead of the linear model "take – make – dispose" (production – use – disposal), the model "reduce – reuse – recycle" (reduction – reuse – recovery for further use in the economy) is used.

Work on the arrangement of the western sections of the state border has already begun on two sections of the border: a length of almost 35 km in the Chernivtsi region and 17 km in Transcarpathia. There are plans to build another 700 km of border roads.

At the end of 2023, EcoPolitic reported that Ukrainian business is already implementing principles of circular economy. Then the company Recycling Solutions was the first in Ukraine to export to Poland the first 2 wagons of dry ash, which is actively used for decarbonization of industry.
