Mobile collection points for waste batteries, lamps and mercury thermometers continue to operate in Lviv. Residents can hand over hazardous waste from July 5 to July 27.

This was reported by the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Lviv Regional State Administration.

Each resident of Lviv's urban-type settlement can hand over up to 10 kilograms of batteries, 10 lamps, and no more than 5 mercury thermometers for recycling and disposal.

Bodnarivka, the collection company, reminded that light bulbs, thermometers and batteries are accepted free of charge from community residents, but light bulbs and mercury thermometers must be returned in undamaged condition and in the manufacturer's packaging. If there is no packaging, it is advised to use another safe container, such as cardboard or paper, to avoid possible damage.

The schedule of stops in July is as follows:

Oksana Viytyk, former at. Director of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Lviv Regional State Administration, urged to actively support the Ecobus initiative:

"After all, every used battery, light bulb or mercury thermometer, every item used and returned accordingly helps to reduce the environmental burden on our ecosystem," she emphasized.

Previously, EcoPolitic introduced readers to work schedule Ecobus in Lviv and the community for June, as well as schedule his parking in Poltava Oblast for May.
