In Polissia, environmental inspectors found illegal felling of trees worth 6 mln UAH

Employees of the State Environmental Inspection (SEI) of Polissia district found a site on the territory of Kharitonivska territorial community of Zhytomyr district, where unknown persons were illegally harvesting wood for almost 6 million UAH.

About it reports the SEI of the Polissia district in Facebook.

State environmental inspectors found a land plot between the villages of Rozkidailovka and Rudnya with traces of felling 582 trees of different species.

Environmental inspection specialists counted more than 5 million 978 thousand UAH of damage caused by illegal logging.

The persons involved in the commission of this offense were not present at the time of the examination. Since their actions showed signs of a criminal offense under Article 214 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, environmental inspectors called an investigative team to the scene. They also contacted law enforcement agencies to identify those responsible for the crime.
