The reform is aimed at preventing corruption risks during inspections of enterprises and preservation of living nature

Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ruslan Strilets discussed the concept of reforming the State Environmental Inspectorate with the team of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine on Telegram.

Strilets said that one of the priority areas that the ministry will intensify this year is the reform of state environmental control, which is aimed at preventing corruption risks during inspections of enterprises and the preservation of wildlife.

"I am sure that our digital tools will reduce the corruption risks in the permitting processes to zero, as well as allow us to open the maximum amount of information to the public. Thank you for your openness to cooperation and support of the Ukrainian environmental agenda," said Strilets.

It is reported that during the meeting he also told the partners about the digital developments of the Ministry of Environment over the past three years and the results of work on reducing corruption risks.

We will remind you that the State Environmental Inspection of Ukraine published the project of the Strategy for Reforming the State Environmental Control. It provides for the transition to European Union standards. The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources assures that with the implementation of the reform of environmental supervision in Ukraine, quality eco-control will finally work.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, Ruslan Strelets boasted that in Ukraine for the period of 2022-2023, 13 European integration laws in the field of environmental protection were approved.
