In the period from 2015 to 2020, a very low rate of tree planting was observed in Ukraine

The State Statistics Service of Ukraine has published data on the rate of tree planting in the period from 2015 to 2023.

This was reported by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

According to the data, in the period from 2015 to 2020, Ukraine showed very low dynamics in the rate of tree planting. In 2015, about 2.5 thousand hectares of trees were planted in Ukraine. Of these, 1.2 thousand were pine trees and 844 were hardwood trees.

In 2016, the statistics rose to 2.8 thousand hectares, including almost 1.4 thousand pine trees, 777 oak trees, and 528 hardwood trees.

In the period from 2017 to 2020, the dynamics of tree planting was almost the same as in previous years. But in 2021, the statistics have already risen to 3.7 thousand hectares, including 1.2 thousand pine trees, almost 1.2 thousand oak trees, and 969 hardwood trees.

In 2022, the planting area amounted to 2.7 thousand hectares, including 1.3 thousand pine and 622 oak trees.

But in 2023, there was a sharp jump in statistics. The total area of planted forests is 6.6 thousand hectares, including 2.1 thousand pine trees and almost 4 thousand oak trees.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the forestry campaign of 2024 is underway in Ukraine. Foresters have already restored 9.7 thousand hectares and created more than 1.2 thousand hectares of new forests.
