Inspectors found soil contamination

Environmental inspectors have calculated the damage caused by one of the numerous enemy shellings that took place in Kherson at the end of last year.

This was reported by the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Southern District on Facebook.

Experts examined the area affected by the drone attack on Mykolaiv Highway.

It was found that the area of contamination of the land plot is more than 1.5 thousand m², and the volume of destruction waste is 600 m³. In addition, the results of laboratory tests of soil samples showed that the maximum permissible concentration of heavy metals was exceeded.

The materials were handed over to law enforcement agencies to be included in the criminal proceedings.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, environmental inspectors calculated 34 million hryvnias of environmental damage from just one of the numerous shellings of Kherson in November 2013.
