Temperature records were broken on April 2

Three temperature records have been set in the capital, according to weather station observations.

This was reported by the Borys Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory.

The minimum air temperature was the warmest for this day, not falling below 12.1°C. This is 2.4°C higher than the record set in 1951.

The maximum air temperature reached 26.9°C, which is 3.8°C higher than the previous record in 2017.

The average daily air temperature was the highest on record for this day, amounting to 16.4°C. This is a 9.9°C deviation from the climatic norm, and a 2.4°C increase over the records of 1990 and 2017.

On April 2, the maximum wind speed in Kyiv reached a record 19 m/s (68 km/h), which is 1 m/s higher than the record set in 2018.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, a high level of air pollution was detected in the capital. Dust from the African Sahara Desert has covered most regions of Ukraine, leading to a slight deterioration in visibility.
