The court upheld the damages

In Mykolaiv, Dykyi Sad Ltd. has reimbursed UAH 610,000 for air pollution, which environmental inspectors discovered in 2019.

During the inspection, they found that the company had been operating for some time without a permit to emit pollutants from stationary sources, the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Southwestern District reported on Facebook.

The press service explained that by doing so, the company violated the laws "On Atmospheric Air Protection" and "On Environmental Protection."

It is noted that in 2019, environmental inspectors filed a claim for damages against Wild Garden LTD. In 2022, the Mykolaiv District Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit to recover damages from the company in favor of the state, which was upheld by the court. The Court of Appeal dismissed the complaint.

"At the end of February 2024, the company transferred the funds to the budget," the press service of the State Geoinspection said.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Mykolaiv, environmental inspectors found oil pollution on the coast of the Bug Estuary in the Namiv neighborhood, with the concentration of oil exceeding the permissible limits by 6 times. It is likely that the black foam on the coast was formed by soot from an asphalt plant.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in October 2022, the Chyhyryn utility company reimbursed more than UAH 403 thousand in damages for groundwater abstraction without a special permit. The violation was discovered in March 2020.
