Activists seek to install similar traps throughout the territory of Ukraine

In Kharkiv, a Trash killer garbage trap installed by volunteers has cleared 45 tons of household waste and plant residues from the Udy River in over 2 years.

The trap prevents the emergence of new garbage islands that the river used to suffer from, environmental activist Artem Prykhodko wrote on Facebook.

As you know, Trash killer was installed at the end of November 2021 at the initiative of environmental activists.

" The Trash killer garbage collector continues to effectively save the Uda River from garbage," Prykhodko emphasized.

He explained that without this equipment, 45 tons of garbage would have gradually accumulated further on drifts in the water. And the fate of the river would be in danger. However, now the flow of garbage from the city and nearby villages is controlled, and the main thing is to clean the basket of the garbage collector in time and take care of it.

"This hydraulic structure showed high efficiency with relatively low consumption of resources. So my dream is to install similar traps throughout the territory of Ukraine. This is one of the best saviors of our ecosystem," said the eco-activist.

As EсoPolitiс reported earlier, in Kharkiv, the Trash killer cleaned the Uda River of 43 tons of various garbage. In two years, its basket was cleaned 20 times, even under fire.
