In Zhytomyr region, the Korosten District Prosecutor's Office has opened a criminal investigation into the illegal construction of gazebos and cottages along the Uzh River.

During an audit of the Korosten community, the State Audit Service found 15 cases of violations of land and water legislation, the State Audit Service press service reports.

"Earlier, during a routine audit of the Korosten territorial community, auditors recorded numerous cases of violations of land and water legislation. Now we have been asked by the prosecutor's office for copies of the acts and audit findings to continue investigating the facts of unauthorized seizure of land and illegal construction in Korosten," said Alla Basalaeva, Head of the State Audit Service.

It is noted that the conclusions of the State Audit Service were confirmed by experts of the State Geocadastre.

The report said that 10 meters from the river is the Monaco guest house and the tourist infrastructure facilities of ONTARIO-2018 LLC. In addition, gazebos are located directly on the shore, on communal property.

The city council said that they did not grant permission for their installation.

The press service added that the auditors also inspected 20 other water bodies with a total surface area of 102.2 hectares. They discovered that hydrotechnical facilities are being used without registration of title documents, lease agreements and permits for special water use.

Earleir, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Carpathians, near the resort of Bukovel, in the village of Tatariv on the banks of the Prut River, six "boxes" houses were built. For this construction, trees were cut down on the coast and the shore was dug up.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Odesa, on the banks of the Dniester near the water's edge, two new wooden houses were built on the lands of the Bilyaiv Forestry.
