An additional option for pensioners to receive 5 LED lamps has been introduced

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the Concept of the State Targeted Economic Program for Energy Modernization of State and Communal Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment Companies until 2030.

The document defines the goals, priorities, and results of the program, Taras Melnychuk, the government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, said on Telegram.

He added that the concept also defines ways, mechanisms and necessary resources to achieve these results.

Melnychuk said that the government has also amended the Procedure for the implementation of a pilot project to create favorable conditions for ensuring efficient electricity consumption in Ukraine.

In particular, an additional opportunity has been introduced for pensioners to receive five LED lamps directly from Ukrposhta post offices. To do so, a pension certificate is required.

"This will make it possible to speed up the process of issuing light bulbs to recipients before the beginning of the autumn-winter period of increased loads on the energy system of Ukraine," he explained.

Earlier, Ecopolitic wrote, that the Cabinet of Ministers approved the Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2050, which reflects the goals of the European Green Deal and the achievement of carbon neutrality of the energy sector by 2050.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, Ukrainian schools, medical institutions, condominiums and cultural institutions exchanged 1 million incandescent lamps for energy-saving new LED lamps in Ukrposhta branches. Exchanging lamps can be done by both citizens and legal entities.
