Despite the increase in the number of vacationers, the waters of Lake Svityaz meet sanitary and chemical standards

In the eight lakes of the Shatskyi National Nature Park, the water quality meets sanitary standards.

Lake Svityaz remains one of the cleanest in Ukraine, the Shatskyi National Nature Park reports on Facebook.

"Every year, the anthropogenic load on natural aquatic complexes increases, therefore there is a need to conduct hydrochemical studies of water quality," the message explained.

It is noted that water quality monitoring is carried out twice a year, that is, at the beginning and at the end of the holiday season on the lakes:

  • Svityaz;
  • Lucimer;
  • Black Great;
  • Sandy;
  • Pulemetske;
  • Luky-Peremut;
  • Ostrivyanske;
  • Crimean

The report emphasized that Lake Svityaz is the deepest and largest freshwater lake in Western Polissia. It has a reducing potential, that is, such water is typical for underground waters, where metals of low valence degrees are present. In addition, despite the increase in the number of vacationers, the waters of the lake meet the sanitary and chemical standards of safety and quality.

Earleir, Ecopolitic wrote, that in Volyn, the director of the Shatskyi National Nature Park will be tried for employing "dead souls" and embezzling their salaries for over a million hryvnias.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the court in Volyn ordered the driver of a Hummer SUV, which in the summer of 2023 drove along the shore of Lake Svityaz and even partially drove into the water, to pay UAH 7.2 thousand to the Shatskyi National Park for the damage.
