Ukraine imports 172.6 thousand tons of waste paper

Ukrainian recycling enterprises are forced to buy about 200 tons of waste every year, because they lack local raw materials.

Because of this, enterprises cannot work at full capacity, Eco-Service reports on Facebook.

It is noted that 82 enterprises for the processing of secondary raw materials, which specialize in processing, operate in the controlled territories of the country:

– Waste paper:

  • The number of enterprises engaged in processing is 18;
  • Can be processed – 885 thousand tons;
  • Processed – 606.4 thousand tons;
  • Import – 172.6 thousand tons;
  • 5.1 thousand tons are exported.

– Polymers:

  • The number of enterprises engaged in processing is 41;
  • Can process – 208 thousand tons;
  • Processed – 112.9 thousand tons;
  • Imported – 19 thousand tons;
  • 2.1 thousand tons are exported.

– PET bottles:

  • Number of enterprises engaged in processing – 14 units;
  • Can be processed – 56.7 thousand tons;
  • Processed – 27.5 thousand tons.

- By glass:

  • The number of enterprises engaged in processing is 9;
  • Can process – 720 thousand tons;
  • Processed – 412.8 thousand tons;
  • Import – 10.3 thousand tons;
  • 2.1 thousand tons are exported.
