In Transcarpathia, eco-inspectors discovered illegal sand mining, which caused losses of about 10 million hryvnias.

Violators extracted 8,700 m3 of subsoil from the Tysa River in the Chopska OTG, in the Uzhgorod district, the State Environmental Inspection in Zakarpattia Oblast reports on Facebook.

The report said that eco-inspectors called the police to the scene. The law enforcement officers have recorded a violation and must enter relevant information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations, initiate criminal proceedings based on this fact, and conduct an investigation.

"Claims for compensation for the damages have been sent to this dealer," the press service emphasized.

It is noted that a resident of Transcarpathia engaged in illegal activities. He kept the illegally mined sand to later sell it in the villages of Esen and Kholmok.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Transcarpathia near Tyachevo, a criminal scheme of a company was revealed, which under the guise of an agricultural firm mined 150,000 tons of sand and gravel for 405 million hryvnias.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Transcarpathia, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed one of the enterprises that illegally mined andesite for 309 UAH hryvnias after the termination of state licenses and permits.
