In Zaporizhzhia, Shevchenkivskyi district, an entrepreneur has resumed burning circuit boards, plastic and rubber in an artisanal furnace, which is causing thick black smoke to rise into the air.

Local residents complain of a strong stench in the air, the Acting Mayor of Zaporizhzhia, Anatolii Kurtev, reports in Telegram.

He said that in May 2023, after the violation was fixed, the furnace was dismantled, and the equipment was removed. At that time, the entrepreneur did not have permission documents.

"The poor entrepreneur rebuilt the oven there and burns boards, plastic and rubber in it," Kurtev wrote.

He noted that representatives of the district administration, the police, the State Environmental Inspection, and the prosecutor's office were on the scene. Investigative actions are underway

Kurtev added that according to the man, v it has an emission permit issued by an authorized institution. Currently, representatives of the law are studying this document.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the suburb of Cherkassy, in the industrial zone, for more than 2 years, an enterprise for the recycling of car tires has been operating, which tires were simply burned.
