After joining the EU, the country will receive the right to vote so that Ukrainian realities for industry are taken into account when developing the best available technologies and management methods (BATM), the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources reports on Facebook.
Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strilets emphasized that this is an important step for Ukraine.
"For us, this is a political step that will open up technical opportunities for Ukrainian specialists: to exchange experience and best practices in the implementation of Directive 75 of the EU, to study the procedures for drawing up BATM and implementing an integrated environmental permit," he said.
According to him, this will help Ukraine to build a high-quality national policy in the field of prevention and control of industrial pollution in the conditions of war and with a clear vision of green post-war development. After all, the restoration of industry will be carried out under the BATM.
Strelets added that the department expects the adoption of draft law No. 6004-d "On ensuring the constitutional rights of citizens to an environment safe for life and health" ("On industrial pollution").
"We systematically approach the issues of further reconstruction of the industry and the country in general. I am confident that the launched comprehensive dialogue will enable us to qualitatively launch an extremely important reform for the green future of the country," he said.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wroe, that on May 29, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading draft law No. 6004-d, which provides for the reform of industrial pollution. However, the document does not take into account public comments.
As EcoPolitic previously reported, the European Business Association called for finalization of 3 principle points in draft law No. 6004-d "On ensuring the constitutional rights of citizens to an environment safe for life and health."
