Human negligence is the main cause of forest fires

In the Rivne region, foresters have arranged 125 special places where you can safely relax in nature.

After all, there is a ban on visiting and entering forests for the population in the region, reports the head of the Rivne OVA Vitaliy Koval on Telegram.

He reminded that the ban on visiting forests has been in effect since March 23, 2022 and does not apply to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Koval emphasized that, according to the Hydrometeorological Center, high temperatures and lack of precipitation are expected throughout May, due to which the fire hazard will be of the highest class. After all, the risks of fires in natural ecosystems are increasing, in particular due to the fact that human negligence is the main cause of forest fires.

He reminded that for violation of fire safety requirements in forests, fines for citizens in the amount of 1530 hryvnias are provided, and in some cases - criminal liability.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in September 2022, residents of the Kyiv region, in particular Kyiv, were urged not to visit forests, even during the mushroom picking season. According to the State Emergency Service, the risk of being blown up by mines in the forest will remain for at least a year.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in July 2022, in Zakarpattia Oblast, in order to avoid fires in ecosystems, it was forbidden to enter forests by cars and other self-propelled vehicles, except for transit routes.
