In Transcarpathia, the expositor of the State Geodesy Service of Ukraine was informed of the suspicion of official negligence, due to which the lands of the forest fund ended up in private ownership.

The plot in the village of Shayan worth 174,000 hryvnias is part of the Khust State Forest Farm, the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office reports on Facebook.

The investigation established that the civil servant, when approving the land management project, did not take into account its non-compliance with the existing requirements and allowed the illegal transfer of forest fund lands to private ownership.

It is noted that the official knew for sure that at that time the Cabinet of Ministers by its order prohibited the seizure of forest fund lands.

The message emphasized that the main department of the National Police in the Transcarpathian region conducted the pre-trial investigation.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Transcarpathia near Tyachev, a criminal scheme was uncovered by a company that, under the guise of an agricultural firm, mined 150,000 tons of sand and gravel worth 405 million hryvnias.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, Yuliya Yatsyk, a member of the People's Deputy and member of the Temporary Investigative Commission on Illegal Cutting of Forests in Zakarpattia region, suspected officials from the region Prosecutor's Office of being involved in forest mafia schemes.
