The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, named seven main tasks of the comprehensive reform of the energy sector.

Among them are the development of green generation and energy efficiency, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reports on Facebook.

It is noted that the first task is to restore the power system after large-scale destruction due to Russian terrorist attacks.

Shmyhal called the second task the decentralization of the energy system, which involves:

  • development of small generation;
  • an increase in gas turbine and gas piston installations that can be quickly deployed;
  • introduction of energy storage facilities that accumulate it;
  • encouraging Ukrainians to install solar panels along with individual energy storage installations.

Shmyhal emphasized that the third task – integration with the EU – has enormous potential in the field of electricity export-import with EU countries.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of the development of "green" generation (4 tasks) and the production of Ukrainian gas (5 tasks).

He emphasized that the sixth task is energy efficiency.

"Decreasing energy consumption of housing, public buildings and in general throughout the country. The key task is thermal modernization. KPIs sh key performance indicator U.S , which we are putting to the responsible teams right now, is to reach the level of 1.5 thousand multi-apartment buildings and a thousand public buildings every year," Shmyhal said.

It is noted that the prime minister named oil refining and oil transportation as the seventh task for Ukraine.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at its meeting on March 14 approved the Government's Priority Action Plan for 2023, one of the key tasks of which is energy security.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal at the annual meeting of the Yalta European Strategy named green energy as one of the priority sectors for the recovery of Ukraine's economy.
