At its meeting on Monday, March 20, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in its entirety government draft law No. 7327 "On the state system of environmental monitoring, information on the state of the environment (ecological information) and information support for management in the field of the environment."
The document is designed to reform the system of environmental monitoring, People's Deputy from the European Solidarity faction Oleksiy Honcharenko reports in Telegram.
He noted that this draft law can be attributed to European integration. The document should create an effective state environmental monitoring system that provides information management needs in the field of environmental protection.
Goncharenko emphasized that the reform of the environmental monitoring system will include status tracking subsystems:
- water;
- air;
- soils;
- forests;
- plants;
- animals;
- waste management;
- geological processes, etc.
"Back in July of last year, the parliament did not support the document, sending it for revision for a repeated first reading. Later, a new edition was approved," said the People's Deputy.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in November 2022, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading the revised draft law No. 7327 "On the state system of environmental monitoring".
As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt in its second reading and as a whole the government draft law No. 7327 "On the state system of environmental monitoring".
