On Wednesday, March 1, the Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management recommended that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopt in the second reading and as a whole the government draft law No. 6203 "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Improving State Supervision (Control) in the Field of Technogenic and Fire Safety ".

This was announced by the representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, on Telegram.

He said that the draft law is designed to solve problematic issues related to the protection of life and health of people, property and the natural environment from fires and their prevention.

The document provides:

  • clarification of terminology and definition of the mechanisms of implementation of state supervision (control) measures;
  • determination of the responsibilities of entrepreneurs to ensure the appropriate level of fire safety;
  • to ensure the principle of equality of economic entities of different forms of ownership in relation to their inspections.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Environmental Policy and Nature Management at its meeting on January 25 recommended that the Parliament adopt in the first reading the consolidated draft law on industrial pollution No. 6004-d "On ensuring the constitutional rights of citizens to safe for life and health of the environment."
