In Transcarpathia, a former regional official will be tried management of forestry and hunting and forester from Velykobereznyan Forest Farm for illegal felling for 5.4 million hryvnias.

They destroyed almost 400 trees on an area of ​​5 hectares, the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office reports on Facebook.

The message stated that the violators will be tried for the fact that a group of persons exceeded their official powers, which caused serious consequences (Part 1 of Article 28, Part 3 of Article 365 of the Criminal Code).

The prosecutors discovered that the official signed and issued a logging ticket that did not correspond to the projected forest management materials and provided for a type of logging that did not actually exist. In addition, for its implementation, the necessary environmental impact assessment conclusion was not previously obtained.

"The other defendant, realizing the existence of the specified violations, handed over the logger to the log cabin, and later accepted the services rendered without any comments," the press service of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office said.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Transcarpathia, the court forced the Svalyavsky forest farm to compensate almost 890 thousand hryvnias for illegal felling and damage to trees of various degrees during sanitary felling and laying and widening of tractor tracks.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Transcarpathia, businesswomen from the Tyachiv district reported suspicions of illegal extraction of sand and gravel mixture, which caused losses in the amount of more than 4 million hryvnias.
