In occupied Sevastopol, the owner of the dolphinarium decided to get rid of the dolphins and threw them into the open sea.

The animals spent about 10 years in captivity and will not be able to live in the wild without adaptation and rehabilitation, that is, they are doomed to perish, reports the public organization Uanimals on Telegram.

Zoo activists explained that dolphins are one of the few species of animals that cannot adapt to natural conditions after living in captivity.

"The unfortunate animals remained in the shallow water, as they found themselves in a threatening and new environment, completely disoriented and frightened," they emphasized.

The owner of the dolphinarium explained his actions by the fact that it is very expensive to keep animals.

"This is yet another terrible proof that dolphinariums are nothing more than a bloody business built on the foundations of inhumanity and cynicism," animal rights activists emphasized.

They also noted that the world needs to know about the cruelty of owners of "entertainment" prisons for animals.

As EcoPolitic reported before, the head of the Odesa regional prosecutor's office, Serhii Kostenko, said that since February 24, 2022, 95 dolphins have died in the region, and the prosecutor's office conducts an investigation under Art. 441 (ecocide) of the Criminal Code.
