Currently, eco-inspectors are calculating the damage caused by the Russian troops to the reservoirs of the Sumy Oblast

In the Sumy region, eco-inspectors calculated almost 140 million hryvnias in damages from the destruction of the road bridge over the Psel River near the city of Lebedyn by the Russian troops.

Also, the destruction of another bridge near Lebedyn caused damage to water resources in the amount of almost 1.1 million hryvnias, the State Inspectorate's press service in the Sumy region reports.

More than 600 tons of destroyed structures of the road bridge fell directly into the river during the active phase of hostilities in the region.

In addition, the press service of the State Inspection Service reported on Facebook that as a result of the destruction of the second bridge by the Russians, another 5 tons of construction debris fell into the Psel River.

The message noted that eco-inspectors are currently calculating the damage caused by the Russian troops to the surface water bodies of the Sumy Oblast. The vast majority of damage calculations will relate to the clogging of rivers by construction waste.

According to the Sumy Military Administration, the road bridge has been completely rebuilt and will be put into operation at the beginning of October 2022. Currently, the channel of the Psla in this place has already been cleared of construction debris.

"All available materials were handed over to the Operational Headquarters of the State Inspectorate of Ukraine and to law enforcement agencies," the report said.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Sumy region, a fire at the Trostyanetska chocolate factory, which lasted for more than a day in March 2022, caused 10.6 million damage to the environment UAH.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in the Sumy region, in the village of Dubovyazunka, eco-inspectors found exceeding the concentration of ammonium nitrogen by 365 times after the shelling of the agricultural enterprise "BIO LAT" LLC, which caused a large-scale fire.
