The State Environmental Inspectorate collected almost 2 million hryvnias from environmental violators in one week

The most high-profile violation occurred in Kirovohrad region

In Ukraine, from September 2 to 8, violators of environmental protection legislation caused damage to the environment in the amount of more than 6 million hryvnias and paid 1.78 million hryvnias to the state budget voluntarily and forcibly.

During this week, eco-inspectors carried out 57 control measures and 131 protocols on administrative violations were drawn up, the State Environmental Inspectorate reports on Facebook.

The most resonant violation was found in the Kirovohrad region. In the village of Glynsk, Oleksandriysky district, unidentified persons illegally cut down 1,275 trees, which caused 1.95 million hryvnias worth of damage.

The case materials were handed over to the law enforcement officers.

In addition, illegal felling was discovered in the forest near the village of Dvorishche in the Zhytomyr region. The attackers destroyed 286 trees of various species and diameters, which caused about 1.9 million hryvnias in damage.

The SEI noted that the case materials are being prepared for transfer to law enforcement agencies.

Also, in the Vinnytsia region, eco-inspectors presented a claim to the State Enterprise "Zhmeryn Forestry" in the amount of 910,000 hryvnias for the illegal felling of 109 trees on the territory of the Vendychan Forestry. The claim is paid in full.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that environmental violators in Ukraine during August 12-18 paid 469 thousand hryvnias to the state budget.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Sumy region, the Buryn elevator paid off 3,879,580 hryvnias in damages for excessive emissions of pollutants into atmospheric air from stationary sources during 9 months in 2017.
