The Cabinet of Ministers is required to have an open personnel policy in the field of environmental protection

Appointment of Elena Kramarenko to the post of Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources was revealed due to possible involvement in corruption case for UAH 200,000.

About this said the authorized representative of the Interregional Bureau of Environmental Protection Vasilina Nikulnikova on Facebook. She reminded of the criminal case initiated in April 2019.

It is worth noting that The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) found UAH 200,000 in gold from Serhiy Lukyanchuk, director of the Department of Environmental Safety and Permitting and Licensing. According to environmental activists, the newly appointed Olena Kramarenko was also involved in the bribery case.

In this regard, environmental activists Savednipro and Interregional Bureau of Environmental Protection turned to Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with the requirement to pursue an open personnel policy in the field of environmental protection.

"Replacements of relevant deputies should be communicated and understood by the interested public, because openness is one of the keys to a productive dialogue between the government and citizens and a safeguard against corruption risks," the environmental activists said in a statement.

As reported by EcoPoliticа, The Cabinet of Ministers met on Friday, May 13, dismissed three deputies at once Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources.

After this the Ministry of Environment has been accused of deciding on key personnel steps secretly from the profile committe  the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
