Ukraine will not be able to export food in normal volumes if Russia's aggression continues

The war in Ukraine could cause famine for one-fifth of the world's population, providing food for 400 million people around the world.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres announces global consequences of Russian aggression, reports Voice of America.

"The war in Ukraine could push more than one-fifth of humanity beyond poverty, destitution and hunger on a scale never seen before," the UN chief warned.

He also called peace "the only sustainable solution".

As you know, due to a full-scale war, it is impossible to sow 3.5 million hectares of land, and Ukraine will not be able to export food in normal quantities if the Russian aggression continues.

Ukraine provides food to 400 million people around the world, including Lebanon, Libya, Yemen, Egypt, Syria and other countries.

We will remind, in the Rivne region during the spring sowing 50% of the planned area spring wheat. Farmers also sow sugar beets, oats and peas.

As EcoPoliticа reported earlier, war in Ukraine can cause outbreak of disease due to pollution environment due to damage to water supply, sanitation and hygiene infrastructure.
