The protected forests of Transcarpathia were damaged worth 25 million UAH in one week

In one week, environmental violators compensated 950 thousand hryvnias

In Transcarpathia, eco-inspectors calculated 24.8 million hryvnias in damages for felling 421 trees in the regional landscape park "Prytisyanskyi".

This became the most high-profile violation of environmental protection legislation during the week from September 22 to 28, the State Environmental Inspection reports on Facebook.

It is noted that the materials were handed over to the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The message added that the second large-scale violation was discovered in the Mykolaiv region. Eco-inspectors presented a claim to a citizen in the amount of 3.8 million hryvnias for burning 2.3 hectares of a field in the Bashtan community.

It is noted that eco-inspectors spent a week 100 control measures and 186 protocols on administrative offenses were drawn up. The total amount of fines imposed is 59 thousand hryvnias. 65 thousand hryvnias were charged to the State budget.

The press service emphasized that:

  • damages in the amount of 29.7 million hryvnias were calculated for violating the requirements of environmental protection legislation;
  • the total amount of submitted claims and lawsuits is 29.2 million hryvnias;
  • 950,000 hryvnias in damages were collected voluntarily and forcibly.

Earlier, Ecopolitic wrote, that in the Mykolaiv Oblast due to arson on August 20 and 22, a fire destroyed 48 hectares of the protected tract "Andriivske". Damages from the fire reached 128.5 million UAH.
