The environmental committee will discuss the development of three versions of the draft law "On packaging and packaging waste"

On Wednesday, October 25, a meeting of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Environmental Policy and Nature Management will be held via video conference at 11:00 a.m.

EcoPolitic prepared for its readers the agenda of the committee.

People's deputies will consider the issue of creating a working group for the development of draft laws No. 10066, 10066-1 and 10066-2 "On packaging and packaging waste".

The Ecocommittee must submit its proposals to:

  • draft law No. 9627 "On making changes to some legislative acts of Ukraine to attract investments for the purpose of rapid reconstruction of Ukraine";
  • Draft Law No. 9674 "On Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses in Connection with the Adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On Drainage and Wastewater Treatment".

People's deputies will also consider:

  • the results of the field meeting to the Zhytomyr Region on October 4;
  • information of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure regarding the state of development of legislative acts necessary for the implementation of the laws of Ukraine, in accordance with Article 24 of the Law of Ukraine "On Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine".

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that on September 15, the Cabinet of Ministers approved draft law No. 10066 "On packaging and packaging waste", which regulates the concept of extended producer responsibility (EPR). On September 18, it was registered in the Verkhovna Rada.
