The director of the Department of Natural Resources and Ecology, Hanna Bogdanovych, who was suspected of participating in a corruption scheme involving bribes for issuing permits, has been fired from the Khmelnytsky Regional State Administration.

The article says that the department organized a corruption scheme involving a private entrepreneur. Officials demanded bribes of UAH 10-50 thousand for issuing documents.

The police suspected the head of the department of involvement in the scheme, who categorically denies all charges. Bohdanovych was detained on April 27, 2023, and the court placed her under house arrest until August 27. She returned to work on August 28.

Another person involved in the scandal – deputy director of the ecology department Volodymyr Didukh was convicted in August of bribery for assisting in the issuance of a permit for emissions into the air. During the investigation, Didukh entered into a plea agreement with the prosecutor, which was approved by the court, and agreed to pay a fine of 42,500 hryvnias. The court decided to cancel the decision to remove the official from his post, but in September 2023 he was released by agreement of the parties.
