In the Volodymyr district of the Volyn region, the construction of a wind power plant (WEP), which will consist of more than 20 wind turbines, is underway.
This was announced by Yuriy Pogulyajko, the head of the Volyn Regional State Administration in Telegram.
The Turkish company "Onur Group" (ONUR GROUP) is engaged in the construction of a new energy facility. According to the Forbes rating, it has already entered the TOP-10 players of alternative energy of Ukraine. Since 2019, the company has built 12 solar power plants (SPP) with a total capacity of 149 MW. 10 of them are located in Khmelnytskyi region, as well as one each in Chernivtsi and Zhytomyr regions.

The governor noted that the construction of a wind farm is a difficult task, as it requires significant investments. They are necessary not only for the installation of the generators themselves, but also for the creation of the necessary infrastructure – the road system necessary for the construction of the facility, its maintenance and operation.

Among the additional benefits, in addition to the supply of electricity, the official named additional jobs created, as well as the opportunity for community residents to use the new roads.
For the first half of 2024, the share of renewable energy sources in the energy balance of Ukraine grew up to 9.8%.
