Some Ukrainians criticized the initiative for its irrelevance in the realities of war and corruption risks

In Kryvyi Rih, the regional office of water resources in the Dnipropetrovsk region announced open tenders for cleaning, beautification and improvement of the ecological condition of the river Saksagan for 387,675,875 hryvnias.

The corresponding tender in the system Prozorro, provides that the works will be carried out in two shifts.

It is noted that at the first stage the winner has restore the retaining wall, clear 1200 m and install slopes. At the second stage, the contractor must clear 10,656 meters of the river.

The tender also includes excavating up to three meters of soil, cleaning the river from fallen and flooded trees, logs, construction debris and debris.

It is worth noting that some Ukrainians criticized such an initiative. In their comments to the tender, they pointed out the irrelevance of the project in the realities of a full-scale war and corruption risks.

"The inflated price for the purchase of a non-critical need, unreasonable unreasonable expenses in wartime, which threatens national security," says Inga Syvytska's appeal.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Kryvyi Rih in the Ingulets and Saksagan rivers in August 2023, exceeding the maximum allowable normative indicators of chlorides, sulfates and other pollutants were found.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Kyiv, the utility company held a tender for surveying and clearing the Lybidi underground stream of silt, wood and various garbage for 14.6 million hryvnias. The winner of the tender was its only participant.
