Among other things, deputies will prepare for the second reading a draft law on the restoration of mandatory monitoring, reporting and verification of greenhouse gas emissions

On Thursday, December 26, a meeting of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Environmental Policy and Nature Management will be held via video conference at 11:00 a.m. Ecopolitics prepared for its readers agenda committee

People's deputies will consider 2 draft laws for which the committee is designated as the main one:

  • draft Law No. 11024 "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On the Nature Reserve Fund of Ukraine" on ensuring the preservation of territories and objects of the Nature Reserve Fund" (second reading);
  • draft Law No. 12131 "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding Resumption of Monitoring, Reporting and Verification of Greenhouse Gas Emissions" (second reading).

The Ecocommittee must submit its proposals to:

  • Draft Law No. 12187 "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Protection of Consumer Rights" regarding the implementation of European law";
  • Draft Law No. 12208 "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Critical Infrastructure" regarding the implementation of the provisions of Directive (EU) 2022/2557 of the European Parliament and of the Council of December 14, 2022 on the stability of critical facilities and the repeal of Council Directive 2008/114/EC ";
  • Draft Law No. 12289 "On Amendments to Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on Strengthening Liability for Animal Cruelty".

Earlier Ecopolitic reported that deputies voted for updating the program for the development of the mineral and raw material base of Ukraine – adopted draft law No. 6227 "On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine regarding the update of the State program for the development of the mineral and raw material base of Ukraine for the period until 2030 and the regulation of some issues related to minerals and components of strategic and critical value".
