3 power cables were laid from the wind farm to the city substation, which significantly improves the stability and quality of the current

Truskavets Mayor Andriy Kulchynskyi said that the community will receive about two million hryvnias annually from real estate and land lease taxes from the new wind farm.

The wind farm has a capacity of 54 MW and is currently the largest in Lviv Oblast, he told for Ukrinform.

Kulchynskyi noted that preliminary calculations for the future wind farm were made for about 10 years, and the land for the power plant was allocated in 2020, after the community was created. The wind farm consists of 10 wind turbines with towers 100 meters high.

"The value for Truskavets is that three power cables are laid from this station to the city substation. This significantly improves the stability and quality of the current that enters the city. Because Truskavets is developing and needs an additional source of electricity," he said.

Kulchynskyi added that the wind farm was launched at the end of 2023 and connected to the country's general power grid.

Eco-Optima's wind farm is located between the villages of Oryv and Zamivka. Its cost is €54 million.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Nizhnyovoritsk community, on the border of Lviv and Zakarpattia regions, the installation of the first wind turbine of the "Ostrovskyi" wind farm with a capacity of 4.8 MW was completed.

Previously, EcoPolitic looked into the reasons for the emotional discussions regarding the construction of WPP on Runa's Polony and analyzed the threats to the environment from WPPs and ways to reduce risks.
