Anna Velyka

He fully admitted his guilt

The head of one of the departments of the Cheremosky National Nature Park in Chernivtsi region will be brought to court. He allowed the illegal felling of trees during road construction, causing the state losses of UAH 7.2 million.

This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).

In April 2023, when installing lighting along the roads in the National Park, the official entered false information into the felling permits. As a result, instead of clearing the territory of vegetation for laying communications in different parts of the park, rare trees were illegally cut down along the roads.

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term of up to 5 years.

The other day, EcoPolitic reported that on Obolonsky Island in Kyiv, hundreds of trees and bushes were illegally cut down.
