The suspect was transferred from the position of head of the Zakarpattia DEI to a similar position in another region

The Zakarpattia District Prosecutor's Office reported suspicions against the former head of the State Environmental Inspection in Zakarpattia Oblast for possession of scratch cards, so-called coupons, for 930 liters of fuel.

The man faces imprisonment for up to 5 years, the Zakarpattia Regional Prosecutor's Office reports on Facebook.

It was noted in the message that "coupons" for diesel fuel and gasoline were purchased with state funds, and the suspect, aiming for personal gain, used them at his own discretion.

"After that, the official was transferred to a similar position in another region. However, this did not give him the opportunity to avoid criminal responsibility the law enforcement officers informed him of the suspicion this weekend," the report says.

The press service emphasized that the most severe punishment provided by the legislation for such acquisition of property by abuse of official position is imprisonment for a term of up to 5 years

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Transcarpathia, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed one of the enterprises which illegally mined construction stone worth 309 million UAH.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the director of one of the utility companies of the Rakhiv Oblast will be tried in Transcarpathia, whose official negligence led to the growth of unauthorized landfill on the banks of the Tysa River. This caused damage in the amount of more than 6.5 million hryvnias.
