The disruption continued throughout March-May 2023

Two officials from the regional department of the State Agency for Land Reclamation and Fisheries, who received bribes from a poacher for illegal fishing, will be tried in Volyn.

They were exposed on May 2, 2023, when they received another tranche for 10,000 hryvnias, the press service of the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office reports.

It is noted that one of the suspects held the position of deputy head of the department, and the other – deputy head of the department for the protection of aquatic biological resources of the "Fish Protection Patrol". They are charged under part 3 of article 368 of the Criminal Code, which provides for punishment in the form of a fine or restriction of freedom for up to two years.

Prosecutors of the Specialized Ecological Prosecutor's Office found that the violation continued during March-May 2023.

The report stressed that currently one of the accused has been removed from office, the other has been fired.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in 2023, specialists from the Special Ecological Prosecutor’s Office registered more than 4,000 criminal proceedings, of which almost 30% have already been sent to court with indictments.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the police uncovered a corruption scheme by an official from the Kyiv City State Administration, who systematically demanded a bribe for issuing permits for emissions of pollutants into the atmospheric air and other permits.
