Bulbs and mercury thermometers must be returned undamaged and in the manufacturer's packaging

Mobile collection points for waste batteries, lamps and mercury thermometers continue to operate in Lviv. Residents can hand over hazardous waste from April 5 to 29.

This was reported by Lviv Regional Environmental Agency.

It is important to note that hazardous waste is accepted from city residents free of charge.

One person can hand over up to 10 kilograms of batteries, 10 lamps, and no more than 5 mercury thermometers for recycling and disposal. It is emphasized that light bulbs and mercury thermometers should be handed over in an undamaged condition and in the manufacturer's packaging. If there is no packaging, it is better to use a safe container, such as cardboard or paper, to avoid possible damage.

"Mobile points for receiving used batteries, lamps and mercury thermometers in the Lviv territorial community help to reduce the negative impact of hazardous waste on the environment through their responsible disposal. This initiative contributes to the preservation of natural resources and improving the quality of the environment for the residents of the community" – said the acting director . Oksana Viytyk, Director of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
