As of the morning of November 2, good air quality in Ukraine is more of an exception. Most regional centers record moderate pollution.
This is evidenced by data from the international monitoring platform IQAir.
On average, the level of air pollution in Kyiv is moderate. The key pollutant remains fine particulate matter PM2.5, with a concentration of 14.7 µg/m3. According to World Health Organization standards, its upper limit is 5 µg/m3.

The locations with the highest concentration of pollutants include Sichovykh Striltsiv Street (22.7 µg/m3), Omelianovycha-Pavlenka Street (22 µg/m3) and Akademika Zabolotnoho Street (17.8 µg/m3).
In several settlements near the capital, pollution is even higher. In Irpin, the air is unhealthy for sensitive groups, with a dust concentration of 35.6 µg/m3. Velyki Dmytrovychi records a "red" level: the air is unhealthy for all population groups, and the dust content has reached 80.1 µg/m3.

Most regional centers show a moderate level of air pollution, with the following dust concentrations:
- Chernivtsi – 29.5 µg/m3;
- Odesa – 22.2 µg/m3;
- Ivano-Frankivsk – 20.8 µg/m3;
- Kherson – 20.1 µg/m3;
- Rivne – 19.1 µg/m3;
- Lviv – 17.3 µg/m3;
- Vinnytsia – 17.3 µg/m3;
- Ternopil – 15.4 µg/m3;
- Zaporizhzhia – 14.4 µg/m3;
- Cherkasy – 13.7 µg/m3;
- Lutsk – 13.5 µg/m3;
- Chernihiv – 12.2 µg/m3;
- Mykolaiv – 11.7 µg/m3;
- Zhytomyr – 11.3 µg/m3;
- Kharkiv – 10.5 µg/m3.
Air quality is in the "green" range only in the following major cities:
- Dnipro – 8.6 µg/m3;
- Khmelnytskyi – 7.6 µg/m3;
- Poltava – 6.7 µg/m3;
- Uzhhorod – 4.4 µg/m3.
A high content of harmful compounds in the air threatens public health. It can lead to the exacerbation or even the onset of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Read more about the impact of the environment on the body in this article.
