In the city of Novoyavorivsk, Lviv region, residents of the apartment building co-owners association (ABO) "Our House – Novoyavorivsk" have completed comprehensive thermal insulation of a 39-year-old building, which has reduced heating costs by UAH 580 thousand (44%) annually.
This is reported by the press service of the Energy Efficiency Fund.
The total cost of insulation of the house amounted to UAH 8 million, of which UAH 5.6 million was covered by a grant from the Energy Efficiency Fund, UAH 2 million was raised by lending, and the rest was covered by the co-owners of the house at their own expense.
The following modernization works were carried out on the building:
- A commercial heat energy metering unit was installed;
- A modern individual heating substation was added, which now automatically regulates heat supply;
- Hydraulic balancing of the heating system was carried out – now all floors have uniform heat distribution;
- Pipelines for the heating and hot water supply systems in unheated rooms were replaced and insulated;
- The facade was insulated and walls were renovated;
- Windows and doors were replaced in common areas.
According to the residents, before the modernization, the building had problems with the heating system and thermal insulation. However, after the building was insulated, the annual energy savings for the residents will amount to 452.3 thousand kW.
The building modernization project was implemented with the support of the European Union and the German government, in particular, with technical assistance from the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
