The MPs will, in particular, consider the issues of increasing liability for dry vegetation burners and amending the Tax Code of Ukraine in connection with the adoption of the law on industrial pollution

On Tuesday, May 6, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management will hold a meeting via video conference at 12:00.

EcoPolitic has prepared the committee's agenda for its readers.

Its members will consider 7 draft laws to which the committee is to submit its proposals. Among them:

  1. Draft Law No. 13074 “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Strengthening Liability for Burning Dry Vegetation”.
  2. Draft Law No. 13074-1 “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts to Strengthen Liability for Violation of Fire Safety Requirements in Forests, Territories and Objects of the Nature Reserve Fund and Committing Other Environmental Offenses”, submitted by the Chairman of the Environmental Committee, Oleh Bondarenko.
  3. Draft Law No. 13157 “On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine in connection with the adoption of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Integrated Prevention and Control of Industrial Pollution’.
  4. Draft Law No. 13163 “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on the Effective Exercise of Powers by Self-Regulatory Organizations in the Field of Land Management, Topographic, Geodetic and Cartographic Activities”.
  5. Draft Law No. 12428 “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on the Implementation of the European Union Legislation in the Field of Fisheries”.
  6. Draft Law No. 13003 “On Amendments to Section II ‘Final and Transitional Provisions’ of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Land Use Planning’.
  7. Draft Law No. 13205 “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on State Supervision (Control) over Compliance with Sanitary Legislation in the Spheres of Economic Activity that May Pose a Risk to the Health and Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare of the Population”.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, on March 27, the Verkhovna Rada registered draft law No. 13074-1, which provides for stricter penalties for arson of forests and dead wood. Fines for arsonists may increase to 25 thousand UAH.
